Commissioned Artwork? What’s involved?

Morning Flight

The beauty of a commissioned piece of art is that it reflects something personal about its owner… maybe a hobby or a passion; like the Morning Flight painting I did for my husband, an avid duck hunter. It can commemorate a special event, like an anniversary. Your art will be created for a specific space in your home, reflecting the color palette, style, and size that compliments your home.  I have been commissioned for gifts like an anniversary, birthday, or wedding gifts.

In an art consultation, I would spend time with you in your home or over the phone to get a feel for the space and where you feel you need art. We will also find out what you like so the painting will reflect that something personal that makes the artwork meaningful. You may already have something in mind or we can go through ideas to start forming a foundation of your likes and dislikes.  Together we will decide on a style, color palette, and subject matter that will get the process going of creating a one-of-a-kind expressionistic painting that you will love for years to come. Don’t let distance deter you, this past year I completed commissions for clients in Florida and Georgia.  Logistics always seems to work out some how!  Most of my art commissions tend to be signature focal points and generally are placed over a mantel, entry way, or in a dining room.  All artwork is on gallery wrapped professional canvas.  You can expect your painting to take 3 to 6 weeks to complete.  Commission artwork starts around $500 and upwards depending on the size and complexity of the piece.  I will be glad to answer any questions.  So contact me anytime for an art consultation.
